Kevin Swett the general practitioner:
Washington native Kevin Swett began his photographic career as a staff photographer
for his high school paper. Some thirty years later Kevin has photographed in
Europe, Asia and the United States. Kevin’s subject matter varies from
animals to landscapes, sporting events to glamour.
With a passion for photography, Kevin developed the unique ability to visualize
creations and achieves incredible results. Capturing thousands of images per
year (or per shoot,) he spending hours in his digital dark room creating and
posting incredible finished products for his clients to purchase.
Instead of specializing on specific venues, Kevin feels comfortable shooting
a variety of subjects. “When other professional photographers shoot only
one or two modes of photography, Kevin shoots it all, and shoots it all well” said
Michael Taylor, Chairman of the Board, Professional Photographers of America. “He
is a true general practitioner.”
It’s not unusual to find Kevin shooting at Qwest or Safeco Field in Seattle,
or in the woods of Montana photographing everything from cougars to wolverines.
He is a regular at the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper Wyoming and
at the Central Washington State University Rodeo in Ellensburg Washington.
He particularly enjoys children’s sporting events, t-ball is his favorite
followed closely by soccer. A large portion of his time is consumed shooting
glamour images at his studio in Pioneer Square in Seattle.
Kevin is a member of the Professional Photographers of America. He was the
recipient of the 2003 Alma Gray award presented by the Professional Photographers
of Washington. Kevin is an active member of the Society of Sport and Event
Photographers and a member of Canon’s Professional Services.
Kevin’s images have been shown at exclusive auctions at the Columbia
Tower Club, Seattle, and the Clarke School for the Deaf, Bryn Mare, Pa. Images
have been shown at the national convention for the Professional Photographers
of America, in Austin, Las Vegas and Orlando in 2008 where he will receive
his “Master of Photography” status.
